How to Write a Press Release?

Press Release is a piece of newsworthy and useful publication. It is an announcement of new products, new services, awards, events or other item interesting news. If it is a great press release, it actually gets picked up on various sites and channels and possibly results in media calls. It also builds credibility for your business.

Please check below for your guidelines of writing a great Press Release:

Head Line – this is the first sentence which grabs the reader’s interest. Like a typical news report, it includes the 5W’s - who, what, when, where, why, and 1H - how. This is the summary of your story. It should be should be brief, clear and direct to the point.

Sub Head - gives you the opportunity to expand the angle of your story. Make sure to write only short sentences that would keep your reader intrigue.

Body – write based on the actual facts of your story. Maximize your content but keep it short and simple. Avoid repetition and over use of grammar, slang words, jargon and fancy languages.

End Paragraph – short paragraph at the end of the release containing background information about the company - its core business, area of expertise and the business policy. And don’t forget to include your contact details.

In addition, a great press release is an extremely effective marketing tool. It adds up significant traffic from potential customers, interest from media editors, increase brand awareness and may improve your rankings in the search engines.

Please check below for additional guidelines of optimizing your press release:

Keywords Research – you should decide what important keywords are for your target audience. The chosen keywords drive traffic to your site and build market exposure for your product or service. Add keywords to your H1 header tag

Keywords should be strategically spread within your press release body content – make sure not to sound so redundant.

Add keywords in links back to your site

Keyword density level should be appropriate( 8- 15% overall density)

Just the way I want It...

This is how it is to study at NYU :)

Second assignment for our Internet Marketing Strategy class.

Using the free website www.weebly.com, create a home page for your website and 4 other internal pages. One page should be Classes. Another page should describe your Yoga Mat. A 3rd page should describe your yoga clothing line. A 4th page is up to you.

* You are a yoga instructor that has just rented a space for your very first yoga studio in Park Slope (a Brooklyn neighborhood in New York City). Your address is 380 5th avenue. You have approximately 1000 square feet.

* You plan to run yoga classes and teach private yoga lessons out of your studio. In addition, your space is suitable for rental for appropriate purposes: theater rehearsals, dance classes, and the like.

* You have also become the exclusive US distributor for a special yoga mat created in Sweden. This map is hypo-allergenic and fights back against bacteria and germs that can be found on ordinary yoga mats. This mat retails for $49.95 and you plan to sell it both through your studio and online. (This product is fictional so you can make up your own name.)

* Finally, you have become a distributor for a company called Omala (www.omalausa.com). Omala makes yoga clothing and apparel out of bamboo; it is recognized as an environmentally friendly resource to make fibers. However, you are not an exclusive distributor. You can look on their website to see who are other distributors.

Booksamillion.com Review

www.booksamillion.com

I wouldn’t say that it’s the best site I have tried but in a scale of 10, my rate would be 8. I was looking for the book of Steve Krug, Don’t Make Me Think, as our required book for our Internet Marketing Strategy class. I first went to other sites I knew to check the prices of the book I wanted to buy. When I found out that price difference isn’t really a big factor then I decided to try this site, something I have heard of but haven’t known for.

The site for me is very easy to navigate and design is good, not loaded with flying graphics. Pleasing for the eyes as I should perfectly say it. This site is purely for books, the mere fact that it’s very focus to one criterion makes it very appealing to customers. I like the lay out as well, putting SPOTLIGHT just in the center helps a lot for people who wants to know something new which the site can offer. Also, download from pages to pages is fast.

However, shipping fees wasn’t shown in the first page, it was only shown in the very end of the process. In which makes me go back from the start and order another book to get a free shipment. But I still recommend this site to my friends and I will definitely go back to shop here.

Why Digital Media Marketing?

I started to get interested with surfing the internet since I arrived here in the United States. It wasn’t long ago when all day I found myself surfing the net and getting the grip on the basic internet navigation. I was first fascinated with Social- Networking site (Friendster.com) I met a lot of my childhood friends and managed to keep the friendship alive again. Then I started to purchase some stuffs online and used online banking.
One day while surfing I managed to read about Google advertising programs and business solutions. My interest on interactive marketing strongly developed slowly. I learned everyday where the industry is heading and how it changes a lot of things in one’s life and too many.

After few weeks of searching through NYU website, I finally decided to enroll for Introduction to Interactive Marketing. I believe that certificate programs offer a very fast learning, possible career advancement or expand career options and the most important résumé-enhancement.

Taking this course “Introduction to Interactive Marketing” is just a first step so I can fully understand if I do truly have deep interest on the field of digital media marketing. With all what I learned from this course, I’m pretty much sure that I will definitely continue to enroll on other courses for me to get my Certificate for Digital Media Marketing. Just mainly to leverage myself in looking for new and better career in the future. I am taking the courses to learn as much as I can about online industry and hopefully next year I can start a whole new career with online marketing.

However, my long term plan is to really expand the marketing agency I started 3 years ago with a friend from College in the Philippines. As for now, we cater only for the traditional media for small and medium businesses. If given the chance to be part of an online marketing agency here in the U.S., I will surely do my very best to learn in as much as I can so I can definitely make the best of everything when I get back home.
